Havin' a Great Thursday with Phil Melancon at City Park, Brian Quezergue at the "O" and a Party on Magazine!

Happy Thursday!

It's a great night to hang out at City Park and enjoy Phil Melancon for the Twilight Garden Concert Series! Phil Melancon performs his music with the spirit and style of his hometown New Orleans. Phil will also perform songs from his current shows, “Ray Nagin’s Going Away Party”, and songs from French singer/songwriter Charles Aznavour. The gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out...$10 for adults and $3 for children.

Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours. Tonight the Ogden has Brian Quezergue. Bassist Brian Quezergue is the son of the late Wardell Quezergue, who arranged “Chapel of Love” for the Dixie Cups and was dubbed the “Creole Beethoven” by Allen Toussaint. Last year at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Brian led a group of his father’s friends and band alumni including Tony Owens, Robert Parker and the Dixie Cups.
*Be sure to head on over to the bar for this month's signature drink - O-Sangria. And remember with your Ogden membership all of these excellent concerts are FREE - And my hubby Bill deTurk will be doing the interview - so you definitely don't want to miss it!

Tonight is Jess Leigh Jewels GRAND OPENING Party from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.! Come celebrate a new chapter in this local artist's journey! Jess Leigh Jewels, Fairy Boutique, and Katie Malone Makeup Studio (5700 block of Magazine) will all be open late for shoppin' and sippin' and dancin'! They'll have local DJ, Todd Taylor, doing that music thing, a champagne bar (with plenty of mixers), and a delicious array of treats (hint hint Blue Frog). In Store Promotions from all three shops...sounds like a good time to me!
