You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood.This month the Market welcomes Red Gravy to the Green Plate Special. This Italian restaurant, located in the CBD, will be serving up your choice of cool zucchini basil bisque, served with Bellegarde Bakery bread, mini meatball sliders with side of cool pasta primavera, goat confit from Rockin R Dairy, served on balsamic dressed greens, and topped with candy cane beet slaw, and peach cobbler for dessert. Yum!

Art and Puppets!
The Contemporary Arts Center (900 Camp St.) presents “ANTHROPOMORPHIZER !!” an exhibition by Miss Pussycat, and “Who is Pulling the Strings?”, an exhibition by The Mudlark Puppeteers, Scary Toesies, Calliope Puppets, and The Red String Wayang Theater. The opening reception for both exhibitions is tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and will feature DJ sets by Quintron and Rotten Milk.
*For “ANTHROPOMORPHIZER !!” Miss Pussycat will bring her sewing machine, buckets of neoprene, pipe cleaners, and fun fur to set up a working studio on display as she turns raw materials into puppets with special powers that fill the window and talk to viewers. This exhibition will remain on view until September 22.
Good Music Tonight!
There's a great musical evening on the Avenue at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. tonight! Have a fancy cocktail and listen to guitar man - John Rankin!
Get your self to Mid-City tonight and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal St.) for some funky piano from Jon Cleary - it's an early start to the Independence Day weekend - don't miss it!
There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight too over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the The Treme Brass Band at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover for the show - but you know you don't want to miss it!
Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Andy Forest at 4:00 pm, Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 6:00 pm, and top off the evening with the Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 10:00 pm!
It's a fun night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band - they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
