Happy Weekend with Wine, Fun in the Parks, Crawfish, Record Store Party and Earth Day!
Friday Night Fun!
Wine!
Hooray for wine! It's the weekly wine tasting over at Pearl Wine Co. - (formerly Cork & Bottle) (Orleans at Moss St.) - from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Come enjoy the wines of James Moises tasting including: Pinot Gris “Yamhill Carlton”, Pinot Noir “Mes Amis”, and Pinot Noir “Vieux Carre”. Also enjoy some veggies with NOLA Green Roots - they're hosting a "Vegetable Happy Hour" from 5-7pm.
Double your wine tasting pleasure in Mid-City! Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm.
Jared Breaux, fresh back from his honeymoon, will be pouring 4 great wines from France at the Friday Free for All, plus Chef Walter will dazzle us with his creative small plates that have become "don't miss" edible treats on Fridays.
*And after Swirl...head right down the street for Lips and the Trips from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, at Fairgrinds Coffeehouse - Out in the Courtyard. Only cover charge are your Inhibitions! Come be with us!
There's more wine on the Bayou! It's Vino on the Bayou at The Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Come enjoy wine tasting event of the Spring season. Come enjoy a glass of wine and the live music of The Courtyard Kings while watching the sunset on Bayou St. John. $5 admission for Louisiana Landmarks Society members and $10 general admission.
Fun at the Museum!
Movies in the Garden: Meet Me in St. Louis - at the New Orleans Museum of Art's (NOMA) Sculpture Garden - NOMA and the New Orleans Film Society are bringing more of your favorite films to the Besthoff Sculpture Garden.
**Admission: $6 for adults, $3 for NOMA/NOFS Members & children, 7 to 17. Guests who purchase admission to the museum will also have access to the Sculpture Garden and activities. Children 6 and under are free.

Concert in the Courtyard!
Head down to the Quarter for Concerts in the Courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection....Experience a concert in the courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection in the heart of the French Quarter - 533 Royal Street. The Spring series is in full swing with a performance by the Lars Edegran's New Orleans Jazz Band! Admission is $10, FREE for THNOC members, and includes 3 complimentary Sazerac Rye Old-Fashioned cocktails provided by Sazerac! Guests must be 21 or older to enter and memberships begin at the low low price of $35.00 per person.
Saturday Fun!
It's Crawfest time over at Tulane - a full day of tons of crawfish (literally), music, more food and crafts. If you're Tulane student, faculty or staff you get the crawfish for free....other folks can pay $10 and get all the crawfish they want! It's Bugs and Brew for Drew at Mardi Gras World (next to the Convention Center). The Drew Rodrigue Foundation hosts the annual event featuring a crawfish competition, beer garden, kid's entertainment and live music by Papa Grows Funk, Honey Island Swamp Band, Johnny Sketch and Stone Rabbits. Celebrate National Record Store Day at Louisiana Music Factory in the French Quarter (210 Decatur St.) with live in store performances from 2pm – Andrew Duhon, 3pm – Miss Sophie Lee - 4pm – Dave Jordan - Remember to support live local music in New Orleans!!
Saturday evening is Fortier Fest in Fortier Park (Esplanade at Mystery St.)...The fun starts at 4:00 pm with Walter "Wolfman" Washington, John Michael Rouchell and Allen Toussaint!! There's going to be great food from Cafe' Degas, Lola, Santa Fe, Cansecos, and Terranova's (to just to name a few), a silent auction, and of course lots good times for all!!
Sunday Fun!!
The Louisiana Bucket Brigade presents the fifth annual New Orleans Earth Day Festival and Green Business Expo, with music, food, beer, a second line, art installations, performances, children's activities, and an expo of craft, green businesses and nonprofit vendors, at Bayou St. John from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm. Pinch A Palooza is a family friendly street party at Deanie's Seafood (1713 Lake Ave.) in Bucktown that features Deanie's famous BOILED CRAWFISH and other delectable crawfish dishes from New Orleans' favorite seafood restaurant, plus a lineup of great New Orleans bands, entertainment for kids, an artists market and a racious Crawfish Eating Contest with teams competing for the title of Pinch A Palooza Champions!
