The 2011 HARVEST THE MUSIC CONCERT SERIES continues today!!!

The free concert series benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans & Acadiana....Every WEDNESDAY, through October 24 from 5:00 pm to  7:30 pm at LAFAYETTE SQUARE!!

In addition to a free, weekly concert, concert-goers will enjoy food and drinks for purchase (no outside food or drinks, please) from local favorites including: Café Adelaide, CRÊPES À LA CART, Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar and Restaurant, Martin Wine Cellar, Metairie Deli/Bistro, Ms. Linda THE YA-KA-MEIN LADY, Oceana Grill, Squeal BAR-B-Q and Second Harvest Food Bank Community Kitchen. An artists' village will feature artwork and crafts from regional artists and designers, all available for purchase.

September 26 - Dr. John and the Lower 911 feat. Jon Cleary + Natalie Mae and Johnny Sansone
October 3 - Anders Osborne with the Bonerama Horns and Dave Malone + Mia Borders
October 10 - JJ Grey & Mofro + Colin Lake
Octpber 17 - North Mississippi Allstars with Alvin Youngblood Hart and Lightnin’ Malcolm + Young Pinstripe Brass Band
October 24 - Rebirth Brass Band + Mississippi Rail Company

Opera returns to Bourbon Street with Opera on Tap - Fall is here - Celebrate with song, wine, and the New Orleans Opera Association Vocalists with Pianist Todd Simmons! Join in tonight at 7:00 pm at the Puccini Bar located at the Four Points Sheraton on Bourbon (formerly the Inn on Bourbon - 541 Bourbon)! The hotel is located at the site of the French Opera House (1859-1919) and continues to celebrate its history with a live performance series.  Special $5 parking is extended to all guests attending the performances.

Head on over to Frenchmen Street for a double header of music at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) - They've got an early show with the Tin Men at 7:00 pm, and be sure to stay on for Walter "Wolfman" Washington at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but you know the Wolfman is worth it!

Have fun in Mid-City when you head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for some happy hour drinks and stay on for  Meschiya Lake & Tom McDermott at 7:00 pm and stay on for  Copper Box at 9:30!  Come hungry - the kitchen is kickin' with pizza and all kinds of yummy food!

And there's more fun in Mid-City over at the Banks Street Bar (4401 Banks)!  Tonight it's Wednesday night regular Major Bacon and as always they got some FREE BLTs - tonight at 10:00 pm...you can never get enough of the bacon and no cover!!
