It's the Boozy Book Tour!! You've seen Tales of the Cocktail® in person. Now it's time to see it in print. Celebrate the release of their first book, Tales of the Cocktail® from A to Z, with drinks! They'll be making the rounds to three Fleurty Girl stores, sharing complimentary cocktails and signing copies of our new book. Tales of the Cocktail® from A to Z written by cocktail historians Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller takes a literary trip through the history of the world's premier cocktail festival and a look inside the drinking culture of New Orleans. The book features bits of trivia and wisdom about cocktails and the people whose lives have been touched by them, quotes from the industry's legends, cocktail recipes, and essential information for any cocktail enthusiast. The book will be available for purchase for only $19.95.
*Guests will be the some of the first to sample Gingeroo, the latest product from Old New Orleans Rum. Gingeroo, which won't officially be released till the fall, is an Old New Orleans Spicy Ginger Ale made with Old New Orleans Crystal Rum, 100% natural ginger juice, Louisiana cane sugar and cayenne.
*Fleurty Girl will also feature a special 20% discount off their cocktail t-shirt collection. This collection, created through a partnership with Tales of the Cocktail®, includes The Old Fashioned, Sazerac, Vieux Carre and Ramos Gin Fizz t-shirts.

Don't miss out on the weekly wine tasting at Cork and Bottle (3700 Orleans) about 5:00 pm in Mid-City. Come sample some delicious vinos and kick off your early weekend right! You can also stop at Clever (right next door - don't even have to walk outside) for their happy hour specials after attending the free wine tasting! And be sure to stop by the Crescent City Farmer's Market (right outside the door) and patronize local Louisiana vendors with fresh veggies, seafood and more!!
Go hang out at City Park this evening and enjoy music from New Orleans Banjos +2 for the Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series! A fun loving group of four banjos, upright bass, and piano will perform music from the 1920's when banjos were all the rage. It's going to be a great evening. Don't miss it! Gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out...$10 for adults and $3 for children (it was $3 last year :)
Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours. Tonight the Ogden presents Blackbird Hour - Indie pop with a dash of soul, Blackbird Hour's Brad Hayden and David Woolworth perform songs tinged with wit and wisdom. Fingers crossed that they will reminisce about their days as the Kudzu Kings! Tonight the O BAR's specialty drink is O Sangria: Say O-lé to this refreshing sangria consisting of white wines, fresh fruit juices and fresh fruit.
After the "O" show - come on down to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) and check out Spencer Bohren and the Whippersnappers at 8:00 pm. And be sure to come hungry for some yummy pizza and Italiano favorites!
