Come by the Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) at 6:00 pm to discover some of New Orleans' most endangered sites. The Louisiana Landmarks Society and The New Orleans' Nine Selection Committee are holding a reception this evening for the release of the 2012 New Orleans' Nine Most Endangered Sites. Discover what makes these places so special, and why they should be preserved.
Go hang out at City Park this evening and enjoy music from David Torkanowsky for the Thursdays at Twilight Garden Concert Series! David Torkanowsky is recognized as one of the finest contemporary jazz pianists in New Orleans. Things just seem to sizzle when David is playing his piano.! Gates open up at 5:00 pm and the performance starts at 6:00 pm in the City Park Botanical Garden Pavilion of the Two Sisters...There is an admission charge, but hey, it's helping the Park out...$10 for adults and $3 for children (it was $3 last year :)
Need a little art, culture and music? You gotta go to the show at the Ogden Southern Museum of Art (925 Camp St.) - better known as Ogden after Hours. Tonight the Ogden presents Ernie Vincent - New Orleans own Funk'n Blues living legend Ernie Vincent is mounting a powerful resurgence in the Crescent City as of late. A product of New Orleans rhythm and blues, Ernie Vincent has been on the music scene since the mid 1960's, playing r&b/funk and collaborating with the likes of Ernie K-Doe, King Floyd, Tommy Ridgley, Oliver Morgan, Irving Bannister, Eddie Bo, Jessie Hill and more! And tonight the O BAR's specialty drink is The Rum Diary: After a sip or two of this mélange of Calypso Spiced Rum, coconut milk, simple syrup and a splash of a tropical fruit juice you will be ready to create a story or two!
