Wine Tastings
Hooray for wine! It's the weekly wine tasting over at Cork & Bottle (Orleans at Moss St.) - from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Come out and sample some fantastic wines!
And you can double your wine tasting fun! Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm. Once you've tasted one of their excellent choices you'll be sure to be buy a bottle!
And there's more wine on the Bayou! It's Vino on the Bayou at The Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Come enjoy the June Vino on the Bayou wine tasting event tonight, featuring author Ann Benoit signing "Broussard's Restaurant and Courtyard Cookbook" and musical entertainment by T.J.B. (Traditional Jazz Band)! $5 admission for Landmarks members and $10 general admission. Wine selections are donated by Cork & Bottle Fine Wines, located in the American Can Company on Orleans Ave.
Art Opening
Cemeteryscape Opening Reception - Tonight at the Arts Council of New Orleans (935 Gravier) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm..... Experience the historic beauty of cemeteries around the world! Discover a unique exhibit showcasing photographs that celebrate the beauty and historic value of cemeteries around the world. Photographs featured in the exhibit are selected by fine photographers Josephine Sacabo, Richard Sexton and Richard K. Leach, Art Director of Shutterbug and PHOTOgraphic magazine. All proceeds from Cemeteryscape sales benefit Save Our Cemeteries, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and protecting the cemeteries of New Orleans. A Night at the Museum (and Sculpture Garden!)
Join the New Orleans Museum of Art, as they present music, art making, and an outdoor screening of the classic film The Wizard of OZ tonight in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA. See below for the night’s scheduled events. Admission: $6 for adults : Children (17 & under), free : $3 for NOMA/NOFS/Members (No more than 4 discount tickets may be purchased.) No outside food or beverages will be permitted. Please bring a blanket (recommended) or folding chair for seating.
Schedule for the Night:
• 5 pm to 8pm: Food by Crêpes à la Cart, La Cocinita, Green To Go NOLA, NOLA Snow Snowballs (additional purchase required)
• 6 pm to 8pm: Music by Cindy Scott
• 5 pm to 7pm: Art Making Activity with Three Ring Circus.
• 8:15 pm (sundown): Film: The Wizard of OZ - come dressed as your favorite character.
And there's food fun at the Museum too! Café NOMA presents "Art You Can Eat" a 12-week summer series featuring the artful culinary creations of Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group chefs and special guests. Fridays from June 8 to August 24, 2012, at 7 PM, chefs from Café NOMA, Ralph's on the Park, Red Fish Grill, Café b, and Heritage Grill will lead an interactive, educational, and delicious cooking event celebrating NOMA exhibitions and the culinary arts of New Orleans.
*Art You Can Eat is an interactive demonstration of the tips and tricks behind classic and contemporary cooking, mixology and presentation, with special emphasis on professional techniques made easy.
