You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market and stock up on your Thanksgiving menu items too!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even grab some lunch! November brings Ann Churchill of Karma Kitchen to the Green Plate Special tent. We're super excited to try the Indian borcht, grass-fed beef or veggie curry, cucumber salad, kale salad with apple, cucumber and macadamia nut vinaigrette, and Meyer lemon tarts.....yummy!!
The Trinity Artist Series continues tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson Ave.) with "Organ & Labyrinth" with Albinas Prizgintas on the 5000 pipe Trinity tracker organ. The program includes some of the greatest music ever written ranging from Classical Baroque to vintage rock and popular tunes. The concert is from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and it's FREE!
Good Music Tonight!
It's gonna be a beautiful evening to hang out at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a cocktail and listen to the trio of John Rankin, Clarence Johnson III and Jesse Boyd and join in to help celebrate Clarence's mother's birthday!
There's a another birthday celebration over at Chickie Wah Wah's (2828 Canal) in Mid-City....Party down to the sounds of ZaZu City and help Nancy O celebrate her big birthday at 7:00 pm!
There's some fun on Frenchmen tonight over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the Treme Brass Band at 9:00 pm - there's a $5 cover, but this show is definitely worth the dinero!
Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 6:00 pm and top off the evening with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 10:00 pm!
End your night over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!
