I hope everyone was able to get out and "strut" last night. What an amazing line-up of musicians!! We got to catch the Hot Club of New Orleans, Chris Thomas King, Davell Crawford, Shamarr Allen, Allen Toussaint, and Donald Harrison - all in one night!! Wish we could have cloned ourselves to catch everybody. If you did miss the strut - no worries - cause there's more Satchmo celebratin' today and tomorrow!!

Satchmo SummerFest has extended its hours from noon to 8 pm and for the first time, fans will enjoy ‘Satchmo in the Shade’ - musical performances under completely tented areas. Looking for some air conditioned fun? Then get yourself over to the New Orleans Convention Center in Hall J for the Great American Seafood Kick-Off!! The cooking begins at 11:00 am and goes on all day and winners will be announced at 4:30 pm! Guests of the cook-off will enjoy some seafood sampling, complimentary water, snacks from Whole Foods and Budweiser Beer (for those guests who are over 21).
