If you're looking for a road trip head down to Grand Isle for the International Tarpon Rodeo...This is the oldest fishing rodeo in the U.S., and the rodeo is making it's big return since the BP oil spill! The festival runs from 11:00 to 10:00 pm today with food, merchandise and exhibits. Children's crab races take place at 2:00 pm and be sure to stay on for music with the Wisegus at 6:00 pm! Tonight is www.nolamusicnow.com's Launch Party Showcase at 10:00 pm over at Southport Music Hall & Deck (200 Monticello Ave). Nolamusicnow is the brainchild of three life-long friends that started out as a facebook page called NOLA Music. The idea that music feeds the souls led to the creation of a calendar that covers live local music throughout the greater metropolitan New. Orleans area. Over 250 venues and as many as 2.000 events are included in the calendar each month. To celebrate the launch of the new website, nolamusicnow decided what better way to highlight local music than with a musical showcase. Check out the great music tonight with Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs, Credo Blues Society, and Funk Pocket - All this fun for the low low cover of only $10!!
