A year ago today the worst oil spill in our nation's history occurred in the Gulf of Mexico...let's take a moment to remember the lives that were lost, and let's move forward to protect our environment and this beautiful place we call home.

Oil Spill Memorial Concert tonight at 7:30 pm....A benefit concert featuring: Dr. John, Drew Landry, Shannon McNally, Michael Juan Nunez, The Treater Band,Grey Hawk, Fi Yi Yi and more at Tipitina's French Quarter (233 N. Peters St.)$25 in advance, $30 at the door.
It's the Harmony for Health/ Unity for the Gulf Concert at the House of Blues (225 Decatur St.).....Kevin Costner & Modern West headline this benefit concert, with the Voices of the Wetlands All-Stars featuring Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, Johnny Vidacovich, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Johnny Sansone and Waylon Thibodeaux. All the proceeds will be go to The Oil Spill Memorial Fund administered by the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation and the Gulf Coast Fund. $50. Patron party at 5:30 p.m.; general admission at 7 p.m.
Before you head down to the House of Blues be sure to stop by the Louisiana Music Factory (210 Decatur) for another great in store performance by Drew Landry at 5:00 pm...remember to grab a discounted beer ticket on the counter, and purchase some only in New Orleans (and Louisiana) music!

Another great evening full of music at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) with Brett Richardson at 4:00 p.m., The Orleans 6 at 6:00 p.m., and to top off the night St. Louis Slim & The Frenchmen St. Jug Band at 10:00 p.m.!
