You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even get some lunch! Chef Alon Shaya of John Besh's Domenica (Italian for Sunday) is back at the market today with cannellini bean soup with the Monica's fava beans and Creole tomato bruschetta, Ryals Farm spicy goat meatballs over polenta with spring onions, ricotta agnolotti with Jim Core's greens, Smith Creamery butter and lemon, and Johndale Farm strawberry zuppa inglese with white chocolate... ....yummy!!
Looking to get your art on this evening...well we have just the thing for you!! “Bottles, Brushes with Degas”: A Painting and Pouring Experience at the Degas House (2306 Esplanade)! Beginning at 6:30 PM, this one of a kind event provides artists and non-artists the opportunity to come and be inspired where Degas lived - tonight paint the famous Degas - A Woman Ironing. All you need to bring is a little creativity and a positive attitude. It's gonna be a great evening to hang out at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.)...Have a cocktail and listen to the amazing John Rankin at 8:00 pm...it's a beautiful night for moon gazing and porch sippin'!
You got to go to Mid-City tonight to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) to enjoy the amazing Grayson Capps at 8:00 pm!! If you have never checked Grayson out (and especially if you have) you really need to head out for this great evening of music!! And don't forget they got some yummy food over there too!
For more musical fun head on over to Mid-City to the Banks Street Bar and Grill (4401 Banks) for a great night of music with The Nola Treblemakers....the show starts up at 10:00 pm!!
There's a triple header over at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) starting up at 4:00 pm with Brett Richardson, then stay on for Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 6:00 pm, and finish off the night with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 10:00 pm!!
You definitely need to stay up a little late tonight...for the big REBIRTH BRASS BAND cd release party tonight around 9:30 pm (NOLA time) at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street.....it's gonna be one amazing night of music!!
