The Roosevelt New Orleans will re-create the "Stormin' of the Sazerac" starting at 2 p.m. to mark the 61st anniversary of the original "Stormin'." It was Sept. 26, 1949, when women, normally admitted only on Mardi Gras, began to receive equal status year-round with men at the world-famous bar. The event will feature Sazeracs for the ladies, a "vintage glamour" costume contest and informal hat modeling by Fleur de Paris and the Emporium Gift Shop. All guests are encouraged to dress in late-1940s attire. A special ladies-only lunch menu will be served at the Sazerac Restaurant beginning at noon for just $25, inclusive of tax and gratuity. Complimentary valet parking is available for those who dine at the Sazerac Restaurant. For lunch reservations, call (504) 648-5486.
There's a Concert in the Courtyard with Tim Laughlin from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at The Historic New Orleans Collection (533 Royal Street)...the fun starts up at 6:00 and goes to 8:00 p.m.....Admission is $10 and FREE for THNOC members this includes 3 complimentary beverages. Memberships begin at $35.00 per household.
It's the Where Y'Hat Party and Fashion Show this evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dutch Alley...There's gonna be music, a hat fashion show, hat contests, hat raffles and hat making booths!!! Wear Your Hat...Buy a Hat...Win a Hat...Make a Hat!!

6:15 p.m. Where Y'Hat Fashion Show emceed by hat aficionada Margarita Bergen with assistance by local fashion guru Carolina Gallop! Featuring over a dozen hats by local designers.
6:30 p.m. Hat contest! Wear your hat to the event and enter one of these categories to win prizes: Hippest Hat-Mad Hatter-Who Dat! Hat-Margarita's Choice-Halloween and/or Harvest Hat.
6:45-7:15 p.m. Lantana Combo plays jazz standards, bossa nova, blues & modern jazz. LAST CHANCE TO GET YOUR HAT RAFFLE TICKET.

7:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Lantana Combo continues... dance your hat off!
Tonight is Vino on the Bayou, a monthly fundraiser wine tasting, at The Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) on Bayou St. John....The event lasts two hours from 5:30 to 7:30 and costs $10 per person. All proceeds are donated to the Louisiana Landmarks Society which helps to preserve and protect some the most historically significant landmarks in New Orleans.
And you don't want to forget.....It's the opening weekend of the Final Oktoberfest at Deutsches Haus (200 S. Galvez)...this fun festival starts up at 4:00 pm today and is going on each weekend from Sept. 24- October 16...Admission: $8, Children 12 & under Free....The Deutsches Haus opens Oktoberfest for the final time at the original location in Mid City. Enjoy great German food, drink, and music...come do the Chicken Dance!!!
