Happy Monday Everybody!
Here are some great ways to stay cool this Monday evening!
It's another HOT Monday, but there's a great breeze from the river today...so it's a good night to take a stroll along the River Road levee, and while you're there be sure to stop at the River Shack Tavern at 7:00 pm for some really GOOD red beans and rice, and the cool sounds of Amanda Walker.
You can get your evening started off right at Chickie Wah Wah on Canal....they have amazing singer/songwriter Andrew Duhon for an early show at 7:00 pm...and I'm sure there's gonna be some yummy food too!!
There's a fun double header over at Maison (508 Frenchmen)...You got Jayna Morgan & The Sazerac Sunrise Jazz Band at 7:00 pm, and the Monday Super Jam hosted by Gene Harding featuring Rue Fiya at 10:00 pm...now this sounds like a fun way to spend your evening!!
Keep out the heat and spend some time on the Avenue at The Columns....There's gonna be David Doucet from BeauSoleil fame, and while you're enjoying the sounds have a refreshing adult beverage and this will surely start your evening off right!
Stick around Mid-City and go on over to the Banks Street Bar & Grill for the N'Awlins Johnnys at 9:00 pm and some free red beans and rice for your Monday night!
BJ's Lounge (4301 Burgundy) has a special show tonight at 9:00 pm with King James and the Special Man...If you've never headed down to BJ's you gotta do it...and if they're serving those yummy burritos you have to get one...they are yummy!!!!
If you're lookin' for some bluegrass music tonight you don't have to go too far to find it....Check out the Hi Ho Lounge on St. Claude and the Bluegrass Pickin' Party at 8:00 pm...there's no cover and FREE red beans at this show too!
Be sure to make a stop by the Spotted Cat early for this great line-up of music....Brett Richardson at 4:00 pm, Dominic Grillo and The Frenchmen Street All Stars at 6:00 pm and be sure to stay on for the Jazz Vipers at 10:00 pm.....it's sure to be another smokin' Monday evening show.
Have a great Monday and stay cool...and for more musical fun check out WWOZ Livewire ....until tomorrow.
